Sony Ericsson has selected Esmertec‘s Jbed

Sony Ericsson, a global leading provider of mobile phones, has selected Esmertec‘s Jbed Java Multitasking Virtual Machine to power its new revolutionary multimedia XPERIA™ mobile phone range. The first handset X1 will be available in selected markets in the second half of 2008.

X1 is Sony Ericsson‘s distinctive arc-slider mobile phone delivering premium, converged mobile experience. It features among others a customizable "panel" interface designed for fingertip navigation, an 800x480 pixel touch screen, a wide-pitch keyboard and Web 2.0 communication for ultimate mobile browsing.
